We have selected the best days out this Easter including ranging from, Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Bonnet Competition, Easter workshops and much more.

The Easter Bunny is waiting to meet you again at the café at 12pm so come along and join in our famous egg hunt which starts at 12.15pm. With lots of exciting games and competitions, sports and workshops, you’re sure to have an eggstra special day with all your friends and family! Make sure you bring your handmade Easter Bonnet for our fantastic competition.

Join the Gadbury Egg Hunt
Bunny has been hiding his choccy at National Trust for Scotland in places all across the UK. Now it’s up to you to find his stash! To make sure that you have loads of fun along the way , Bunny has left clues around these places to point you in the right direction.

Easter ‘Xplorer Challenge’
Sat 1 Apr-Sun 23 Apr, 10am-12pm & 1-4pm, £3 per map
‘Xplorer’ is a great outdoor activity, run in partnership with British orienteering. Explore the reserve and find our themed markers out on the reserve to complete this challenge! This event is run daily throughout the Easter holidays and is drop-in; there is no need to book.
Crafty Creative: Easter Wreaths
Sat 1, Sun 2, Tue 4, Wed 5 & Thu 6 Apr, 10am-12pm & 1-4pm, £5 per wreath
‘Crafty Creative’ is a drop-in craft sessions. This month they will be making some Easter wreaths! Suitable for all ages, and no booking is required, just drop-in between the advertised times.
Mad Science Workshops (*)
Mon 3 & 10 Apr, sessions at 10.15am, 11.30am, 1pm (ages 5-8) & 2.15pm (ages 9-12)

Mad Science return to Brockholes with more of their exciting practical workshops! This month we will be making some Easter wreaths!
- Mon 3 April’s sessions are called ‘Earthworks & Bugs’. The youngsters will dig-in to Earth science and get engrossed in entomology, as well as checking out various rock samples to find out how they were made and where they were formed.
- On Mon 10 April the sessions are based around ‘Electricity & Energy’! Children will check out the various sources of electric power by working out how to generate electricity. We’ll discuss fossil fuels and how important renewable energy is; we may even use some children to power our plasma ball!
Wildside Holiday Club (*)
Wed/Thu 5, 6, 12 & 13 Apr, 9.30am-4pm, from £17.50 per child
Wildside is a popular school holiday club aimed at those aged 8-14 and they offer post Wildside sessions too! Activities have included shelter making, fire lighting, woodland games and outdoor art. You can also extend your child’s session from 4pm-5.30pm for an extra £4pp.
Wild Families: Gruffalo Adventure (*)

10am-12pm session added! Their always popular Gruffalo themed adventure returns for 2017! Do you believe in the Gruffalo? You’ll have to use your senses to track down the Gruffalo and discover our various woodland creatures along the way.
Animal Encounters: Circle of Life (*)
Sat 8 & Sun 9 Apr, sessions at 10.15am, 11.30am, 1pm & 2.15pm, from £3pp
‘Lion Learners’ return with special sessions focusing on new life. You’ll get the chance to get up and close with all sorts of creatures, from remarkable reptiles and mega mini beasts to relatives of the Easter Bunny!
Wild Families: Survival (*)
Tue 11 Apr, 2-4pm, from £5pp/£18 family of four
Dress up in camouflage before heading out on the reserve to try out your tracking skills as you follow the trail into the woods. Once there, you will have a go at shelter building, fire lighting and camp cooking as well as take part in some games to test your senses!
Wed 12, Thu 13 & Fri 14 Apr, 10am-12pm & 1-4pm, £3.50 per basket
Go along to this drop-in activity and weave your own Easter Basket. Perfect for filling with chocolate treats, the baskets would also make a fantastic Easter gift for a special someone! Adults are welcome to have a go too… No need to book, just go along.
Good Friday Walk (*)

Make Good Friday into a great one, by joining us for a circular guided walk to Avenham Park in Preston. They will be having a lunch stop in Avenham Park, so either bring a packed lunch or buy lunch at their Pavilion. On your return we’ll be having tea/coffee & cake in the lakeside Brockholes Restaurant.

Easter fun at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo London
A whole host of Easter events will be happening at the zoo from April 4-14, like the Egg-stravaganza Days on Tuesday April 4 and Thursday April 6, when kids can spot eggs hidden in the animal enclosures. And for Easter Bunny Day (Friday April 14), children can learn to make their own rabbit ears while meeting real bunnies. Check the zoo’s website for times and further details. Activities are priced individually.
Easter Egg Trail

This year’s Egg Rolling will bring you an exciting and varied programme of workshops, street theatre and live music as well the traditional Easter Bonnet competition. But most importantly don’t forget to bring your Easter eggs to roll down the hill.
Official egg rolls will take place on the hour every hour ar Avenham Park.
